The Work at Heart program helps companies embed Business Volunteering into their management practices in a simple, human, and effective way.
Developed by VBM, this program is built on solid, hands-on expertise and a direct connection with hundreds of nonprofits across Montreal that offer volunteer opportunities. Work at Heart helps managers implement a social engagement process that aligns the needs of community organizations with business objectives, fostering meaningful and sustainable social impact.
You must first complete the membership application form. After we receive your request, a validation meeting with a member of our team is used to clarify your needs and confirm the feasibility of your project within our program. The confirmation formalizes your membership with the CABM, which is a prerequisite to receive matching support and guidance, and it includes a mini-plan (objectives, matching criteria, preparation elements) so you can move forward with confidence.
Once your membership is confirmed and your matching request is submitted, VBM facilitators search across our hundreds of member nonprofits to find organizations that fit your criteria by sharing your proposed volunteer activity. We then come back to you with one to three activity options and organization types. This step is handled anonymously. The company and the organization are put in contact once both parties accept the match.
We support you in clarifying your objectives, gathering your needs, and validating feasibility, in collaboration with your team. Training is short and simple: brief readings and video capsules, followed by a mini-quiz, so everyone is well prepared to have an optimal experience.
Throughout the journey, we stay by your side with ongoing support and guidance that turns your initiative into a strategic and human lever, in coordination with the nonprofit.
After the activity, we work with you and the nonprofit to measure the impacts and deploy appropriate recognition, benefiting your company and the volunteers who took part.
