Following the closure of Concertation Montréal, the Volunteer Bureau of Montreal (VBM) is proud to announce the 2026 edition of Find Your Board, now under its leadership.
This meaningful initiative was entrusted to the VBM with the goal of ensuring its continuity and preserving the important role it plays in connecting Montreal nonprofits with individuals who want to contribute actively on a board of directors.
The VBM is taking on this responsibility with both gratitude and enthusiasm. Find Your Board is a valuable and much-needed initiative that creates meaningful connections between organizations seeking new expertise for their boards and candidates from a wide range of backgrounds who are ready to support a nonprofit mission.
This transition is a natural fit with the VBM’s longstanding expertise in volunteer engagement, especially in governance volunteering and skills-based volunteering. Bringing together organizations and individuals, supporting purposeful engagement, and helping build strong community connections are already central to the VBM’s work.
Following the launch of Heart at Work, taking on Find Your Board feels especially timely. It builds on an existing momentum within the organization and strengthens a shared vision: creating impactful opportunities for people to contribute their skills and experience in ways that truly support the community.
The 2026 edition will be presented in a more modest format, reflecting this transitional year. Even so, the VBM’s commitment is clear. We intend to carry this initiative forward for the long term and to help it regain, in the coming years, the same scope and visibility that made it such an important event in Montreal’s nonprofit community.
By taking the lead on Find Your Board, the VBM hopes both to honour the legacy of Concertation Montréal and to open a new chapter for this important initiative. This year’s edition may be more intimate, but the vision for the future remains ambitious: to keep creating meaningful opportunities for organizations and individuals to connect, and to help strengthen nonprofit governance across Montreal.
